Louise Cyphre

Louise Cyphre is the shit. They, along with bands like June Paik and Trainwreck, are Cry Me A River regulars hailing from Germany. Their sound is generally trashy punk with a blend of '90's hardcore/screamo, although they commonly have chilled out melodic breaks. I have no fucking idea how many releases they have, but below is their 35 song discography that runs just over 45 minutes. In case you really care they did splits with La Quiete, The Apoplexy Twist Orchestra, Shikari, and were on the Emo Apocalypse and Armageddon. Seeing as I have no idea how many releases this band has, I have no idea if the discography I have had for some time is complete. I do know that their song from the Emo Apocalypse is missing, so I put that below as well. Heres a video from their set at the 2006 Cry Me A River Fest.

Cap'n Jazz Reunion

"After playing a short, impromptu set in Chicago in January 2010, the band(Cap'n Jazz) decided to hold a formal reunion show at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago on July 17th, 2010 in support of the vinyl re-release of Analphabetapolothology on Jade Tree Records where they gained success. Due to the show selling out in about 48 hours, a second show was added the next night."-Wikipedia

TOURING BANDS-FEBRUARY

The music community needs to be a little more tight-knit, don't you think? I think it would be cool if Chug Life could help people out with getting their tours booked. The idea I was kicking around was this: Every month I would list off bands that are going on tour in hopes that it would help them either get shows booked or just to let people know that they are passing through. Feel free to comment this post and be like "(This band) is going on tour (here at this time)". The list is small, I know. Hopefully it will get bigger.

Let's

Let's

Let's is a trio of fine young men from Baltimore. Members Jon, Lou, and Erik have played and currently in a few other Baltimore bands, including Army of Kashyyyk, The Summer We Went West, Pansori, and ROTA.

Their sound is gritty and melodic, and reminds me of some of the older Braid with plenty of nice, heavy parts and sweet drumming. All I've got is three songs from these guys so far, they've only been around a few months. Enjoy!

Download if you're a fan of Braid, The Summer We Went West, Cap'n Jazz, or Monument.
